Charitable Works

The values of Freemasonry are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness and, from its earliest days, Freemasonry has been involved in charitable activities. Since its inception it has provided support for many widows and orphans of Freemasons as well as many others within the community. In addition Freemasonry donates large sums to National, Regional and local charities.

All monies raised for charity are drawn from amongst Freemasons, their families and friends at our meetings and at social functions, while grants and donations are made to Masonic and non-Masonic charities alike. It is however entirely up to the individual member what he gives to Charity, but it should always be without detriment to his other responsibilities.

Kenneth Kinnersley Lodge supports charities through both regular and one-off donations. These charities are outlined by the Master of the Lodge in his year of office and all funds raised throughout the year are donated to those charities. Charities that we have or are still supporting are as follows::

* National charities include The Brittle Bone Society, The Alzheimers Society and The British Heart Foundation.

* Local charities include RUH MRI Scanner, Friends of Paulton Hospital, Radstock Museum, Radstock Scouts, Crossroads Care, Swallow, and Dorothy House Hospice Care.

If you wish to know more about the Lodge's charitable endeavours then please call or email the Lodge Secretary or Charity Steward.

Did you know: Next to the National Lottery, Freemasonry is the largest donor to Charity, all of which is freely given by its 300,000 Brethren
